Again in this show, the familiar vocal pop sound remains the starting-point. But next to it, new elements were added which make the show POP ART into a unique spectacle; the old variety revives! And especially for these new ingredients, the knowledge and experience of Karel ‘Mini’de Rooij were an inexhaustible source. Coming from the stage, you’ll hear an overwhelming sound, but the orchestra pit is still empty: the five voices know how to verbalize pop music without any instruments. It is just to talk about a ‘Montezuma Sound’. This powerful, broad and frisky sound is recognized by so many who have seen Montezuma in the theatres and on other occasions, during the many years of its existence.
